Abstract:
It has been postulated that fuzzy dark matter (FDM) could be a viable alternative to cold dark matter (CDM). FDM is comprised of ultralight bosons which exist as a Bose Einstein condensate. Due to the very low mass of FDM, the de Broglie wavelength of these bosons are of the order of kpc and the quantum effects manifest at those scales. Hence, unlike CDM, FDM experiences quantum pressure along with gravitational attraction. Due to these competing forces, structure formation in FDM is more involved than in CDM. In this talk, after an introduction to FDM, I will speak about my recent work on the simplest model of structure formation, namely the spherical collapse model, of FDM. In particular, I will explain how one could incorporate quantum pressure to extend the spherical collapse model of CDM to the case of FDM.

I was planning to say hello, but now I think greetings are unnecessary. Firstly, I already know you and all your loved ones very well. ...
